Television sitcom rocker Micky Dolenz of the Monkees will be joined by three members of Congress in a Capitol Hill performance designed to boost legislative support for the Performance Rights Act. Dolenz will be appearing in the Capitol Visitor’s Center, and will be joined by a bipartisan set of sidemen, including Joe Crowley (D-NY) on guitar, Tom Rooney (R-FL) on drums and Ted Deutch (D-FL) on keyboard. Event organizers say there will be other surprise guests. The session is scheduled for Wednesday 6/23/10 at 4:30 Eastern. RBR-TVBR observation: Things have been relatively quiet on the PRA front of late, and speculation has leaned to the view that it’s dead in the water for 2010 but will be back in 2011. However, the fact that it has cleared both the House and Senate Judiciary Committees responsible for it means that literally anything could happen. Stay tuned.
